FOSS can always be used for any legitimate purpose, and never contains advertising, spyware or other malware where as Freeware is only great (no cost to acquire),
but offers users none of the freedoms guaranteed by the Free Software definition. In many - not all - cases, freeware is only free under limited circumstances, is limited in functionality,and/or contains advertising or malware. |
